‘Aren’t you going to tackle him?’ I said.

‘All in good time,’ they said.

Back in my apartment they wandered around, the way police officers do, while we talked.

‘Mind if we look around?’ they said.

‘No,’ I said

One of them walked into the kitchen.

‘Mind if I take a look in the fridge?’ he said.

‘No,’ I said; but as I said it I knew, I suddenly knew without any doubt, what would be in it.
