the front desk.
"FUCK!" he screamed.
All buildings he passed were empty with locked doors, even the Hall of
Justice. He was baffled to see everything inside seemingly intact, but no
one around. In frustration, he beat on the hood of a parked Chevy Nova as he
continued deeper into downtown.
"I know," he thought, "I'll head up to Horton Plaza. There's gotta be
some people up there." Feeling confident, he ignored the still-working
street light and crossed the street, heading towards Horton Plaza. He
caught a glimpse of a BK Broiler burger though the window of Burger King as
he passed and licked his lips. "Damn, I need to eat," he thought.
As he wandered up the sidewalk, he could see a figure in the distance
walking in his direction. "Finally," he said with relief, "somebody out in
this sum' bitch. I thought I was going crazy."
He could tell it was a woman, and she appeared to be wearing a pink
mini-skirt. He could see her long brown legs and fashion model stride.
"Damn!" he barked. "I gots to get a better look at this." He stopped in
front of a mailbox and leaned on it, trying to capture the perfect pose to
get her attention. A tattered robe, underwear, nappy hair, and no shoes on
his feet did nothing to alert him to his raggedy appearance. His only focus
was of a beautiful black woman walking his way in pink high heels. He
marveled at this beautiful ebony woman's flawless body that fit perfectly in
the pink mini-skirt and matching bikini top. As she neared, he could see
the matching pink purse on her side. She looked like a Victoria Secret
model.
After crossing the street, she stood before Trevon and eyed him with a
blank stare. Trevon's silly grin and "mac-daddyish" pose did nothing to
impress her.
"What's up, baby?" he said slyly, oblivious to the woman's cold stare.
Trevon noticed her strange elongated oval-shaped purse and wondered what
she held in it. She calmly looked to her purse, unzipped a small pocket,
and pulled out what looked like a calculator. She suddenly pointed the
device to Trevon's face. "Your hard drive is corrupted and must be
formatted. I am instructed to take your hard drive and upload it into Doe
Dilly's mainframe," she said with no emotion. "The CPU of your species does
not have the processing power to properly utilize the device."
"What?" he cried, "That's the shit Tosha was talkin'!"
The woman suddenly pointed the strange device toward Trevon's legs.
"What the fuck is.oh sh---." ZIP! A deafening laser beam muffled Trevon's
loud screams and pierced a large hole in the mailbox through Trevon's legs,
narrowly missing his exposed skin. Screaming, he dove onto the curb,
desperately scrambling to hide behind a nearby telephone pole and narrowly
dodging another searing laser beam. "Not a fuckin' gin!" he cried. "What
the hell are you bitches doing?"
Peaking around the telephone pole and breathing heavily, he saw the
stone-faced woman preparing to shoot another beam. His eyes bulged as he
dove onto the curb again, rolling onto his back. ZZZZIIIIIIPPPPP! The laser
struck the base of the telephone pole, creating a large hole that caused it
to collapse.
Trevon watched in horror as the telephone pole fell away from him,
leveling several parked cars with a thunderous thud. Trevon frantically
scampered backward behind a car to avoid the sparks from the flailing
telephone wires.
The car he hid behind was parked near an alley, providing a quick escape.
He rested his palms on the trunk of the car as he stared down the alley of
salvation.
The woman's evil, expressionless stare turned towards Trevon. Her stare
terrified him as much as the laser beam. "I gots to get the fuck away from
that bitch," he mumbled. He readied himself to make a run for it, glaring
at the crazed woman as she slowly walked towards the car with the laser
device.
"Give up the hard drive, Mr. Jackson," she said. "You can not escape."
"What fuckin' hard drive, goddamnit!" He screamed with frustration. As
she slowly raised the device, Trevon darted down the alley, narrowly missing
the exploding car debris behind him. His eardrums thundered, but he still
ran as fast as he could down the alley, staying close to the side of the
